A passion for places

This article first appeared in INHF's 2006 Annual Report.

Many people first join the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation to help preserve one special place that they know and love.

They stay when they realize that their special place is part of something much bigger. This annual report lets you glimpse that bigger picture.

As you’ll see, 2006 was an extraordinarily productive year for your Foundation. We were involved in a wide variety of efforts—from western Iowa’s Loess Hills to central Iowa’s trail network to eastern Iowa’s Upper Iowa River and Mississippi River bluffs.

None of this work would be possible without the efforts of an extremely dedicated staff and an active, fully-engaged Board of Directors. But in the final analysis, it’s our members who make it all happen—many special people protecting many special places.

On behalf of our board and Iowa’s future generations, thank you!

Robert E. Jester
Chair, Board of Directors
