Protect
Iowa's resources
with
an INHF Charitable Gift Annuity
Does the idea of
earning secure income and saving taxes while protecting seasonal
wetlands and river oxbows, preserving diverse woodlands and restoring
hill prairies appeal to you? Meeting your financial and conservation
goals simultaneously may sound like a pipe dream, but it can be
a reality. Just ask anyone who has established a charitable gift
annuity with the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.
They've found, that
a charitable gift annuity can provide a haven from the soft economy,
volatile stock market and meager interest rates on bank deposits.
A charitable gift annuity is a simple
contract between you — the donor — and INHF. A donor gives cash,
appreciated securities or possibly other assets to INHF in return
for lifetime
fixed payments. (You choose whether
you want the payments for your life alone or for the lives of
yourself and a spouse or another person.) A portion of these payments
is tax-free, and the donor also gets a tax deduction for a portion
of the value of the the charitable contribution. That's the part
of a charitable gift annuity that allows you to earn secure income
and save taxes.
And the part that
allows you to protect, preserve and restore Iowa's wild places?
That's the portion of the gift that remains after all the payments
have been made. Naturally you decide how the remainder will be
used--for every gift annuity agreement is unique and reflects
the interests of the individual donor. Yet all INHF charitable
gift annuity donors have a common desire to share our natural
heritage with "those who follow."
