Trail description:
Four linked Sioux City river trails offer users scenic views along the area's great rivers. River's Edge Gateway 2000 Trail begins in Riverside Park, which contains the Siouxland Youth Sports Complex and the Riverside Family Acquatic Center. Trail users follow the Missouri River and can see Dakota Point, where Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota converge.
The trail ends at Chris Larsen Park, where it joins the Riverfront Trail. This park houses the Sergeant Floyd Welcome Center & Riverboat, Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center, Bev's On The River restaurant and lounge, a marina, Anderson Dance Pavilion and the Argosy Casino Sioux City.
From Chris Larsen Park you can travel through the downtown and the heart of Sioux City on the Perry Creek Trail. This trail winds from the downtown area north following the scenic creek trail 3.2 miles to Hamilton Blvd. and Stone Park Blvd.
The Riverfront Trail then links to the Floyd River Trail, which travels northeast, following the Floyd River. These trails join existing trails in South Sioux City, Nebraska, and will eventually connect to Chautauqua Trail. More Sioux City trails are in the planning stages.
