"Wild Iowa" essay contest announced

Note: This article was first published in the Fall 2004 edition of INHF's quarterly magazine.

The new Wild Iowa Essay Contest is an organized opportunity for inspiring people of all ages to think and write about the state of wildness, specifically as it exists in Iowa.

Selected essays will be chosen from youth and adult categories for publication in print and/or on the web, plus cash awards of up to $300 provided by the Agrestal Fund. Submissions can fit a variety of formats but may not exceed 3,000 words. All essays must be submitted by Jan. 1, 2005.

INHF manages the Agrestal Fund, which was established by Roger Gipple in April 2004. The purpose of this fund is to encourage public thought and discussion about the importance of wildness in Iowa. The views expressed are those of the participants and not necessarily those of INHF.
