Bulrush briefingThis article first appeared in INHF's Summer 2006 magazine. With widespread support, we’ve reached major milestones on the Anglers Bay project at Big Spirit Lake. The $6.67 million project protects 3,500 feet of undeveloped shoreline. It lines the area’s largest remaining bulrush bed, which provides critical habitat for fish, birds and other wildlife. At press time, nearly 400 donors had contributed more than $1.1 million of the $1.67 million private fundraising goal. Meanwhile, $3.5 million in public funds have been committed as well. Another $560,000 in private funds and $1.5 million in public funds are still needed. Contributions can be designated “Anglers Bay” and sent to INHF by mail, phone or online. For more information, e-mail Cathy Engstrom, Director of Communications, or call (515) 288-1846. © Copyright
