Keep it Growing! Donate Now to Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation

President's Corner
Eight Weeks to Go

"These people inspire us. They value Iowa's natural heritage very highly."

We don't normally put paintings on our cover-but when a renowned artist like Maynard Reece designs an Iowa print to support our endowment, it's time to break with tradition.

Maynard is just one of our faithful members who has found a personalized way to support Iowa's natural heritage through The Campaign for Iowa's Wild Places.

More than 150 members have confirmed their planned gifts to the Foundation -- meaning that we understand and have recorded their personal intentions about a bequest, gift of land or other planned gift.

Many others have made endowment gifts or pledges to provide more stability and flexibility to our work in the decades ahead-and many of those gifts are given in tribute to someone special to the donor.

These people inspire us. They value Iowa's natural heritage very highly, and we're honored that they trust the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation to put their heartfelt gifts to work on their behalf.

The close of the Campaign is fast approaching (December 31, 2003). Please consider a year-end gift to the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation endowment.

If you contribute $250 or more before the end of the year, the Daniel J. and Ann L. Krumm Charitable Trust will double your gift! (Simply write "Endowment" on the enclosed envelope or your check.) And if you purchase Maynard's prints for your holiday giving, you'll be supporting the campaign, too. (See page 3 for details.)

Sincere thanks to each of you who has participated in this campaign-or will do so in the coming weeks. The Foundation's responsibilities are growing. Thanks to you, our capacity to meet tomorrow's challenges is growing, too.

Mark C. Ackelson
President
