Natural Resources Information
Available about Dickinson County, Iowa
and the Iowa Great Lakes Region

Prepared by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation
Funded by the Dickinson County Water Quality Commission
and the Alces Foundation

June, 2003
Over the past several years, there has been a lot of attention given to the protection and enhancement of the Iowa Great Lakes region from an environmental and conservation standpoint. Many individuals, groups, and organizations have been studying the region in an effort to better understand the natural systems so that water quality, wildlife habitat and recreation opportunities can be protected and enhanced. This document is an effort to identify and compile the relevant natural resource inventory research completed into a format that is easily understood and usable by decision makers.
