In 1999, a long term, unified water
quality monitoring program was created in the Iowa Great Lakes
region to determine how the water quality of the Lakes changes
over time. Summaries for the data collected by CLAMP volunteers
and the locations samples are taken from is accessible through
this website.

Iowa's Fragile Flora
http://www.cgrer.uiowa.edu/herbarium/FragFloraIntro.htm
The database is a compilation of
information on rare Iowa plants from four sources.
These sources are:
· five
Iowa Administrative Code lists of endangered and threatened plant
species (Iowa Administrative Code 1977, 1984, 1986, 1988, 1994),
· 1998
list proposed to supercede the 1994 Iowa Administrative Code list
(J. Pearson, Iowa DNR, in litt. 1998),
· 1998
candidate list (J. Pearson, Iowa DNR, in litt. 1998), and
· lists
from three endangered and threatened plant reports (Roosa &
Eilers 1978, Roosa, Pusateri & Eilers 1986, and Roosa, Leoschke
& Eilers 1989).
Five groups of plants/plant-like organisms - 1) vascular plants
('higher' plants), 2) mosses, 3) hepatics (liverworts), 4) lichens,
and 5) fungi (mushrooms/toadstools) - are included in the database;
however, most of the data pertain to vascular plants, which is
the only group included in the Iowa Administrative Code lists
of endangered and threatened plants. Information on rare and endangered
plant species can be downloaded based on plant group, status (endangered,
threatened, extirpated, etc.), or based on which rare Iowa plant
source was used.
