Agrestal Fund: Our past projects

This article was written and posted on INHF's website December 2005.

The Agrestal Fund was established at INHF by Roger Ross Gipple in April 2004. The fund's purpose is to encourage public thought and discussion about the importance of wildness in Iowa. Toward that end, the Fund has sponsored a variety of events and activities and is always looking for new ways to continue the discussion.

Past Agrestal projects and events include:

first public meeting of Agrestal at the Loess Hills Prairie Seminar (June 2004)
subscription of Wild Earth to organizational members of the Iowa Environmental Council
partnerships with;
- The Sustainable Living Coalition (Bioneers Conference in Fairfield, Oct. 2004)
- The Iowa Project on Place Studies (wildness symposium at University of Iowa, Oct 2004)
- Creative Writing Program (wildness symposium at Iowa State University, Feb 2005)
- Loess Hills Prairie Seminar (June 2005)
2005 Wild Iowa Essay Project
co-funder of printing and mailing for Feb 2005 issue of Wild Earth, journal of the Wildlands Project
back issue collections of Wild Earth to nine libraries across Iowa
