How to Apply

Here's what we've found so far...

At the first BioBlitz, held over Memorial Day Weekend, scientists tracked down more than 200 plant species, 32 fish species, 70 stream invertebrates, 19 reptiles, 11 amphibians, 13 mammals, 15 butterfly species, 64 fungi, 5 liverwort taxa, 22 mosses, 51 lichen, and at least 90 bird species—for a total of more than 500 species. Scientists are still working hard in the lab to identify some organisms that could not be identified in the field!  INHF staff, taxon team leaders, and other conservation biologists are eagerly awaiting this second BioBlitz, when we can share this discovery process with the public.

For a complete species list, please give scientists time to identify specimens in the lab. Marlene Ehresman can answer questions about species lists.

What should I bring (novices)?

What should I bring (specialists and generalists)?

How do I get there?

How can I sign up?
