Beginning October 5, the Story County Conservation Board is allowing a controlled goose hunt to help control the goose population using the lake in the winter time due to bacterial growth. Hunting will be confined to the lake. This controlled hunting period will begin October 5 and end January 9. The hours are one-half hour before and after sunrise/sunset. Hunters may use portable blinds, but gas boat motors are not allowed.
