Enjoy a night ride under a full moon with a specular view of the High Trestle Trail Bridge on Saturday 21, 2013.

The Des Moines Bicycle Collective is hosting a trail ride to the world-class bridge for anyone interested in a unique experience. Riders will congregate and enter the trail near Madrid at around 8 p.m. and proceed to the bridge at their own pace. The ride will span a roughly 11–mile portion of the trail.

Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation helped facilitate the construction of the 25-mile High Trestle Trail, which connects Ankeny and Woodward, and the bridge over the Des Moines River. At night portions of the bridge are illuminated, making it functional and esthetically pleasing all day and night!

The Des Moines Bicycle Collective event is part of a series of monthly full moon rides that started in April and will occur until November, weather permitting.

Riders are required to have a light on their bike and a helmet for the safety of them and other trail users.

For more information on the meeting destination and ride specifics, call the Des Moines Bicycle Collective at (515) 288- 8802.
