Nature Walk: Tamaracks

By Taylor on May 5, 2015 in Blog

“Coniferous trees, such as spruces, pines and firs, are called evergreens since they have green leaves (or needles) all year. Tamaracks are coniferous trees found in northern forests; however, they are also deciduous and lose their needles each fall. New needles produced each spring are about 1 inch long, soft and in whorls of 10-20.” – Carl Kurtz
