Now Hiring: Volunteer Coordinator

The Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation is looking for an outgoing, motivated and creative individual to establish and grow our volunteer program. Not only is this a new position, it’s also a new program!

The Volunteer Coordinator will nurture and build the program, work with INHF staff to create or formalize opportunities for volunteers to become involved with INHF to help restore, protect and sustain INHF lands and projects.

The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit, train, and manage volunteers and lead the growth of community engagement in INHF's work.  The Volunteer Coordinator should have an understanding of working outdoors, familiarity with other conservation organizations and volunteer programs, the ability to manage a variety of individuals with different ages and interests, and the capacity to work with INHF staff or partners on the planning and implementation of volunteer projects and events.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in conservation and community service, strong verbal and written communication skills, a high degree of organizational and time-management skills, an ability to work both with a team and independently, and a desire to learn new things and meet new people.

Requirements include experience in developing and managing volunteer programs, a commitment to conservation in Iowa, U.S. citizenship, college degree, and own transportation for completing job duties.
