Quick & Easy Trail Mix Recipes

A day exploring nature can take a lot out of you and we believe that it’s important to know how to refuel. Trail mix is an easy, on-the-go snack for whatever recreational activity you might be out doing on Iowa’s expansive trails.

But with so many different combinations, which kind will you choose? We’ve narrowed down the choices to some of our favorite mixes to help you stay energized while getting your daily dose of Vitamin N.

Protein Power Trail Mix

  • Dried cherries
  • Golden raisins
  • Sunflower seeds
  • Roasted soy nuts
  • Mini chocolate chips

Spice Lover Mix

  • Combine peanuts, raisins, puffed rice & pretzels in a bag
  • Add a spoonful of curry powder, garlic powder & chili powder
  • Sprinkle with water, seal bag & shake well

Kid-Friendly S’mores Mix

  • 2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
  • 1/2 cup chocolate-covered pretzels
  • 1/2 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup cocoa roasted almonds
  • 1/4 cup chocolate-covered raisins
