RAGBRAI for Rookies

RAGBRAI 007World-famous RAGBRAI is one of Iowa’s most popular summer events. Local communities and thousands of people join in on the week-long celebration, but it’s not all fun and games: There’s a lot you need to know before you take off for the cross-state ride. If you’ve never ridden RAGBRAI before or you’re just getting back in the saddle, the Central Iowa Women Who Bike are hosting an event this weekend to help beginners get prepared for the big event.

This Saturday (Feb. 8), the club is hosting “RAGBRAI for Rookies,” an informative talk about all things RAGBRAI. Forrest Ridgway, owner of Bike World in Des Moines and long-time RAGBRAI veteran, will be sharing his knowledge about training, lodging, packing, teams, charters, etc. The talk is open to the public with no required registration. Be sure to bring your questions!

When: Saturday, Feb. 8, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Legends American Grill in West Des Moines (640 S. 50th St., West Des Moines, IA)

If you’re not able to make the event, or have more questions about what to expect on RAGBRAI, visit the Forums page on the RAGBRAI website.
