Meet Kerri Sorrell: INHF's new Digital Outreach Assistant

Kerri Sorrell started her new role as Digital Outreach Assistant at the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation in Des Moines, Iowa, Oct. 15.

In her new position, Sorrell will work on INHF’s communications team, managing the newly released Iowa By Trail app, overseeing all INHF and Iowa By Trail social media and blogging, coordinating communications efforts for Iowa’s REAP program and IWiLL campaign and representing INHF at events and in Iowa’s communities.

Sorrell has worked at INHF since January 2013, first as a graphic design and communications intern and then to manage the Iowa By Trail app full time. This summer, she was on the INHF RAGBRAI team, promoting the trails app to thousands of riders.

Sorrell was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines in December of 2013 with degrees in both Magazine Journalism and Graphic Design. While at Drake, she was editor of the senior capstone magazine Urban Plains and worked on several other campus publications. In her free time, Sorrell enjoys biking, visiting national parks, watching Hawkeye football and discovering new Iowa brews.
