For anyone who has ever dreamed of someday being a contender on the “Amazing Race,” the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, YPC Des Moines and Common THREAD have just the event for you. Iowa Trail Mix – a unique Iowa themed bike adventure – is making its debut this summer in central Iowa.
By way of the Raccoon River Valley and High Trestle trails you’ll visit some of Iowa’s best summer festivals, brush up on state trivia, and enjoy great food and drinks from local watering holes. All the while you and your friends will be earning points, via your smartphones, to put you in the running to win awesome prizes.
There will be seven Iowa Trail Mix events this summer, beginning on Saturday, June 9 in Jefferson and ending Saturday, August 25 in Woodward. For a complete schedule of dates, times and locations, visit the Iowa Trail Mix website. Come for one or come for all. Either way, it’s guaranteed to be a great event. Bonus for trail lovers - proceeds from Iowa Trail Mix will be used toward making the Raccoon River Valley and High Trestle trails even better!
There is a $20 registration fee per Iowa Trail Mix rider. Though participants sign up as individuals, themed teams are encouraged – but not required. For more information or to register for the event, visit http://www.iowatrailmix.com/. Questions? Email info@iowatrailmix.com.
