Nature Walk at Kothenbeutel Prairie

Throw on your boots and join us for an evening hike at Kothenbeutel Prairie. INHF Land Stewardship Director Ryan Schmidt will guide attendees through this stunning 40-acre native prairie preserve featuring over 200 plant species and a diverse array wildlife. He'll also provide insight into the history of the property, as well as past, current and planned restoration projects. Don't miss this opportunity to explore the prairie in its full summer glory. New and experienced hikers alike are welcome!

  • Sturdy shoes
  • Water bottle
  • Hiking stick, binoculars, field guides, etc., if you have them

Kothenbeutel Prairie is located in northern Franklin County approximately 20 miles south of Mason City. Hikers may park along the road on 240th St. west of Thrush Ave. Look for INHF signs and staff.
