Women Caring for the Land

Have you purchased or inherited farmland you are managing alone or with siblings? Or perhaps you are widowed and lanaging land alone? Do you own more than 40 acres with some in crops? If this describes you, Women, Food and Agriculture Network invites you to have lunch with us to meet and talk with other women like you.

Women from conservation agencies will be available to answer your questions about the environment and farming and share how they can help. There are important practices that will help stop erosion, improve soil health, water quality and profitability to ensure that your land will sustain agriculture far into the future.

Registration and brunch begin at 8:30. The meeting begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. Because of our unique discussion format, we limit attendance (sorry, no walk-ins).  We do ask for a $10 registration fee to secure your space and help defray food and venue expense; please RSVP by 4 p.m. on Monday, September 3. Register online contact Carol at 641-430- 2540 or carol@wfan.org.

This meeting is made possible with funding from a Conservation Innovation Grant from the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The USDA is an Equal Opportunity Provider, Employer, Lender.  If you need special accommodation to participate, please contact Carol.

Women, Food and Agriculture Network is a non-profit, educational organization formed in 1997 to provide networking, information and leadership development opportunities to women involved in all aspects of sustainable agriculture.
