You're invited to Heritage Valley, a 1,200-acre nature area near Decorah, for the 6th Annual Into the Wild, Out with the Mustard!
Volunteers will work together in small groups to hand-pull garlic mustard, one of the most invasive non-native plants in Iowa. Garlic mustard spreads rapidly and displaces native plants and wildflowers. If left unchecked, it can do serious damage to wooded landscapes. An RSVP is requested for this event.
Two volunteer shifts are available. Sign up for one or spend the day with us! No experience necessary. Families welcome. Coffee, a sack lunch and equipment will be provided. Rain date: Saturday, May 5. We'll send an email the day before if the event has been moved due to weather.
