Hamilton Prairie dedicatedThis article appeared in the Fall 2005 edition of INHF's magazine.
Adams County’s newest public land, Hamilton Prairie, was dedicated at a public ceremony on Sept. 29. Neal Hamilton donated the 12-acre site to the county through INHF. Hamilton’s family had owned the property since 1872, and it appears to have escaped the plow. Adams County plans to reconstruct it with diverse prairie seedings. They will manage it for public recreation, wildlife habitat and conservation education. Hamilton is pictured here with Anita O’Gara, INHF’s vice president.
