Featured Destination: Iowa River Greenbelt
Greenbelt Overview

The 20 miles of river valley in Hardin County that goes from Alden through Iowa Falls, Steamboat Rock, Eldora and Union comprises an exceptionally scenic portion of the Iowa River known as the Iowa River Greenbelt.

Most of the Greenbelt is accessible by taking the Iowa River Greenbelt Scenic Drive, which extends from Alden to Eldora. The area is also accessible by hiking, biking, canoeing and more.

View a map of the Greenbelt illustrating the towns along the Greenbelt, recreation areas and INHF project sites.
