Featured Destination: Iowa River Greenbelt
Greenbelt Segments

Segment one is suited for active recreational development because of its proximity to the communities of Alden and Iowa Falls.

Segment two is designated for less intensive recreational development, with increasing emphasis on river corridor protection and its natural resource conservation.

Segment three, known as the "heart of the Greenbelt," is an area of incredible scenic beauty and should be considered a wilderness zone. It is comprised of a highly concentrated array of natural, cultural and historical resources.

Segment four is also designated for more active recreational
development and is the location of the Tower Rock Trail,
Pine Lake State Park and the site of frequent canoe trips.
