Land Gifts

The Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation is uniquely suited to handle donations of Iowa land.

Most charities accept gifts of property with the sole goal of turning the land into cash to support their mission. Because the protection of natural resources is our mission, INHF considers proposed gifts of land by looking at the land's natural features and its need for protection, not just its value as a gift.

We accept gifts and bequests of land when appropriate.

We help landowners consider gifts of land to other organizations or agencies for conservation purposes--such as a gift to the state or county to create a public area.

Our staff is trained to help you review your options for donating your land in various ways--including bequests and gifts with reserved lifetime use. You can contact Cheri Grauer, INHF Gift Planner to arrange a free, confidential consultation.

Much more information about donating land for conservation is found in The Landowner's Options section of this website.
