Thinking about permanently protecting your land’s natural features? You’ve come to the right place!

Landowner’s Options is designed to help Iowa’s landowners explore methods for permanently protecting their land’s special natural features—whether you intend to maintain or transfer ownership. Instead of cookie-cutter solutions, it outlines several methods—and then guides you in choosing the best protection options for yourself and your land.

Tips for using the online edition

• Use the navigation bar on the left side of each page to guide you to the pages that interest you most.
• If you click on any button in the navigation bar, you’ll open up a list of subtopics underneath. Each subtopic is an individual website page.
• Though you can use the navigation bar to skip around the site as you like, we particularly recommend starting with the following three pages. They’ll help you make decisions about which other pages to visit. All are listed under the GETTING STARTED button.
• Table of contents: See the expanded navigation bar at a glance! Lists each button on the navigation bar and all its subtopics. Provides quick links to each page.
• Getting started: Helps you clarify your goals and lays out questions that you should ask before choosing conservation options.
• Options chart: An interactive guide for choosing the conservation option(s) that are best for you. Answer 3 simple questions and follow the links to the options that best fit your needs.
