INHF interns have a history of continuing on to impressive careers. Here’s just a sample of what our former interns are up to today:

Jacob Rogers—site specialist, Fisher Scientific at University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa

Stephanie Polsley Bruner—senior editor, Garden Gate magazine, Des Moines, Iowa

Kelly Roberson—freelance writer and editor, Des Moines, Iowa

Philip Bloch—senior biologist, Washington State Department of Transportation, Olympia, Wash.

“Working with the INHF staff taught me two lessons
I apply to my work: Significant conservation action takes patience;
and pictures, imagery and field trips can help people understand
concepts that graphs and text cannot.” –Philip

Kirk Henderson—county coordinator for Iowa’s roadside prairie planting program, Cedar Falls, Iowa

Susan Salterberg—Program Manager, University of Northern Iowa Center for Energy and Environmental Education, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Also volunteers as an INHF board member.

“My affiliation with INHF gives me more credibility, as INHF was
and continues to be highly regarded. Also, as a communications intern,
I worked with environmental education needs assessment for INHF,
which provided me a good context of whatwas happening in Iowa
among a diversity of organizations and individuals.” –Susan

Jeremiah Bergstrom—landscape architect for an environmental engineering firm with expertise in watershed planning and wetland/riparian restoration in Trenton, N.J.

Rebecca Kauten—project coordinator, Black Hawk Soil & Water Conservation Project, Cedar Falls, Iowa

“I was always impressed with how the INHF staff was able to engage
with people. Working now to build a consensus for a local project,
I see the value in finding ways to involve people with varied interests
and objectives. I learned everyone has something to contribute,
be it acquiring land to protect bluffs or to make a stream safe
for human contact.” –Rebecca

Grant Baker—graphic designer, The Myers Group, Tucson, Ariz. Served as freelance designer on 2007 edition of INHF’s Landowner’s Options booklet.

Allie Rath—Florida Park Service, Hobe Sound, Fla.
