Easy beneficiary changes

Perhaps the very simplest, most flexible way to make a planned gift to Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation and other favorite charities is by naming them as beneficiaries on your life insurance, retirement plan, CDs or bank accounts.

How it works
By filling out a simple form, you can designate an amount or percentage of your proceeds to be given to INHF upon your death. You can change these instructions at any time in the future.

  • Life insurance policy: Simply contact your insurance agent to request a “change of beneficiary” form.
  • IRA or 401(k) plan: Contact your plan administrator for a “change of beneficiary” form.
  • Bank account or CD: Contact your bank for the proper form to set up a POD (payable on death) designation for INHF on a savings account, checking account, or certificates of deposit.

Benefits

  • There is no cost to you for making beneficiary designations.
  • You have the freedom to change a designation at any time.

Where do I begin?

  • Talk with INHF staff about your interest in this simple gift as well as the purpose of this gift. Please e-mail Cheri Grauer, INHF Gift Planner, or call (800) 475-1846.
  • Talk with your insurance agent, plan administrator or banker to initiate the process of naming INHF as a beneficiary.

While Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation makes every effort to give you accurate information, you should also consult your trusted professionals for legal, financial, insurance, or estate planning advice. The INHF staff are not engaged in rendering legal, accounting, or other professional services.
