Eagles nesting at Gladys Black refuge

The late Gladys Black, an avid birdwatcher and eagle-lover, would be thrilled. The Gladys Black Eagle Refuge, a 2004 INHF project, now has an active bald eagle nest. The refuge is located just below the tailrace of the Red Rock Reservoir. The nest can be seen from the Old Iron Bridge viewing site, about 300 yards downstream and about 100 feet up in an old cottonwood tree. Hundreds of school kids and other birdwatchers have observed an eagle pair tending the nest.
