INHF is partnering with Pheasants Forever to protect 422 acres of land adjacent to Heritage Hills Wildlife Management Area in Madison and Clarke counties. The site includes over 180 acres of woodland and 160 acres of grassland. The grasslands will provide critical habitat for bird species and other wildlife.

Internship Opportunities

Each summer, INHF hires nearly 20 office and field interns to learn about Iowa's native habitats, contribute to active stewardship efforts and bring INHF's work to new audiences. We’re now accepting applications for summer 2026 positions in land stewardship, communications, design and grant writing.
