INHF Communications team welcomes Joe Jayjack

The INHF Communications team is happy to welcome Joe Jayjack to the position of Communications Specialist. Joe started his position with Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation on Dec. 3.

In his role, Joe will help produce the quarterly Iowa Natural Heritage magazine, oversee INHF's communications intern, manage email and e-news communications and represent INHF to media outlets. Joe will also help promote INHF's work and projects to new audiences.

Joe comes to INHF from August Home Publishing, where he was a designer for Cuisine at home magazine. He has also held design and copy editing jobs at the Des Moines Register and the Topeka Capital-Journal. Joe is originally from Council Bluffs, in the Loess Hills region, and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in journalism.

"I have been following INHF for a long time," said Joe. "I have always been into conservation and have always enjoyed the work that INHF has done. With my interest in storytelling and conservation, I thought this would be the perfect job to combine the two and help share all the stories that INHF contributes to across the state."

When he's not working, Joe enjoys biking, hiking and cooking, as well as spending time with his one-and-a-half year old son and wife. Each year, he takes a biking camping trip along the High Trestle Trail and Raccoon River Valley Trail.
