Iowa Prairie Network winter meeting
This Saturday, connect with fellow prairie enthusiasts and learn about all of the work being done across Iowa to save our most precious natural resource! The Iowa Prairie Network’s Central Region is hosting a Prairie Celebration on January 18th at the Des Moines Area Community College Ankeny Campus, Conference Center (Building #7). The event is open to the public, no fees or registration required.
Presentations will be given by Dr. Laura L. Jackson the new Director of the Tallgrass Prairie Center at UNI, Carl Kurtz naturalist and prairie reconstructionist, and Stan Buman nature photographer (and long-time contributor to INHF’s magazine and calendar!)
Each year at the event, the IPN hosts a silent auction to support an Iowa property of significance. The proceeds from this year’s silent auction will go toward supporting the protection of the Quigley-Slattery Heritage Prairie, an INHF project! If you would like to donate an item(s) for the silent auction please contact Inger Lamb at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The doors will open at 11:30 with the program starting at 12:30. The meeting will wrap up around 5:00 with pizza available ($5 donation) for people who would like to stay and visit longer.
