INHF is pleased to have Laura Stein join the team!
Laura grew up in Burlington, where her love for the outdoors was sparked by frequent visits to Geode State Park and Burlington’s wonderful city parks. After high school, she served in the U.S. Navy, working as an F-14 mechanic in a fighter jet squadron. Laura went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Ohio State University and a Master of Business Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management from Drake University. She has since amassed more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit and government financial leadership, serving in financial roles with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Iowa Economic Development Authority and the National Speech and Debate Association.
Her passion for nature has remained strong into adulthood as she continues to explore Iowa’s state parks through trail running and camping. Laura fosters the same love of the outdoors in her two sons through time spent on Iowa’s vast network of hiking and biking trails.
She is excited to bring her professional experience in driving financial stability and operational excellence to her role at INHF, as well as her lifelong connection to natural spaces.
