Tree Pruning Workshop

glovesOnce again it's the time of year that people trim their trees. They put on lights, ornaments and maybe even some tinsel.

This year the Jackson County Conservation is hosting a tree pruning workshop to teach people how to prune their live trees. The event will take place on December 14, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Hurstville Interpretive Center.

The workshop can be an informative break from decorating the evergreen this holiday season. A short presentation will include tips of how to properly prune a tree and what time of year is best. There will also be time for hands on practice. Attendees can give pruning a try on the burr oak trees around the Hurstville Center.

Jackson County Conservation recommends bringing a pair of pruners and gloves if you have them.
