Join Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, the Friends of Loess Hills State Forest and many public partners as we work to restore the prairie on the INHF-owned Armstrong Farm and land in the Loess Hills State Forest.
The volunteer portion will run from 1-4:30 p.m., and attendees will be professional staff operating the chainsaws and brushcutters with volunteers assisting to treat stumps and drag/pile debris. There will also have an option to collect prairie seed on the property. No experience is necessary, and all volunteers are encouraged to work at their own pace.
We'll end the day with a supper from 5-6 p.m. at the Loess Hill State Forest headquarters hosted by the Harrison County Cattlemen's Association. There will be indoor and outdoor seating available and dinner will include ribeye steak sandwiches, beans, chips and a drink. Vegetarian options available upon request.
An RSVP is required for this event.
