Can I Upcycle That?

Curious about invasive plants, native alternatives and which ones the giraffes and rhinoceros’ enjoy? Join INHF, Trees Forever, City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation and Blank Park Zoo for “Can I UPCYCLE that?”, an exciting classroom and hands-on training workshop focused on identifying and removing invasive plants, as well as native alternatives.

Staff from Blank Park Zoo will talk about how the plants are "upcycled" into food and fun for the zoo animals. There will be a hands-on component to the class. Your help is needed to remove these backyard and forest invaders!

This class is a pre-cursor to our Upcycle Events that’ll be held at Gray’s Lake the third Thursday evening of each month during the summer. The class is not required to attend the event series.
