Throw on your boots, hats and gloves and join INHF for a winter walk at Snyder Heritage Farm.
INHF Stewardship Director Ryan Schmidt will lead hikers along a mowed path through this 154-acre nature area. Most of the walk will be in the property's Oak savanna, a lightly forested grassland dominated by oak trees. Along the way, he will provide insight into the farm's history, a look at past and current land stewardship, and native oak savanna plants and animals in winter. Hot chocolate will be provided after the walk. An RSVP is requested.
This will be a leisurely walk along a mowed path. Hikers of all abilities, levels of outdoor experiences and families are welcome. This is a great way to get outside and learn more about Iowa's native landscapes.
