INHF and IHAP
Some INHF stewarded lands are enrolled in the Iowa DNR's Iowa Habitat and Access Program (IHAP), making them available for public hunting opportunities. Landowners who enroll their land in IHAP receive funding and expertise for habitat improvements, and in turn allow public access to their land for hunting between September 1 and May 31.

To help maintain the success of IHAP, hunters are asked to respect private property and follow these IHAP tips and guidelines. Areas are regularly patrolled by Iowa DNR conservation officers.

Occasionally, INHF implements various management practices, such as prescribed burning or herbicide treatment, that you may want to avoid. If management practices are planned for a site, the property and tentative timeline will be listed below.
