Nature Walk: Rose-breasted Grosbeak

Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are described as stocky medium-sized finches. They nest in small woodlands, extensive forests and even in suburbs adjacent to woodland. Like cardinals they are primarily seed-eaters although they utilize insects as a protein source for young birds. Their call is robin-like, but somewhat higher-pitched. Put up a black oil sunflower feeder and you will likely have them as a regular visitor.
