Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation (INHF) is partnering with Iowa Department of Natural Resources – Forestry (DNR) to contract a skilled and qualified Fire Specialist to assist the Iowa DNR Forestry- Fire Program with statewide coordination and organization of both NWCG and state coordinated wildland and prescribed fire training to enhance and expand prescribed fire use to reduce hazardous fuel situations in Iowa’s Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) and to advance ecological restoration. Internships
Interns make huge contributions to INHF's land restoration, communications, policy and trail programs. Each year INHF hires nearly 20 office and field interns to learn about Iowa's native habitats, contribute to active stewardship efforts and bring INHF's work to new audiences.
