Exploring Iowa: Wabash Trace Nature Trail

Posted on November 13, 2012 at 10:00 AM by Lexi Ruskell

Just because the weather is getting a little colder doesn’t mean you can’t bundle up and keep enjoying Iowa’s trails.

The Wabash Trace Nature Trail is the perfect destination for bikers, joggers or general outdoor enthusiasts. Located in southwest Iowa, this trail is a converted railroad corridor running from Council Bluffs to the Iowa/Missouri border.

With over 62 miles of trails, even the brisk November weather can’t spoil a day out enjoying this Iowa treasure. The trail was even featured by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy as the May 2011 Trail of the Month.
