If you’ve never seen the Loess Hills up close and personal, it’s time that you head west and enjoy this true Iowa marvel.

The beautiful Loess Hills comprises more than 650,000-acres and provides refuge for 49 species of rare plants and animals. You might even spot a few American bison!

With picturesque landscapes and breathtaking views, this unique natural area is perfect for an afternoon in nature regardless of the season.

To learn more about INHF’s work to restore this amazing natural landscape, read the article “Restoring the Loess Hills,” an article originally published in our Fall 2008 quarterly magazine.
