To keep all of our dedicated nature lovers better informed about the events occurring in their communities each weekend, we’ve decided to start a new, weekly post on the INHF blog. Check back every Thursday for unique conservation-minded events to help keep your weekends exciting!
Breakfast with the Birds
Meet at the Jefferson County Park Nature Center, southwest of Fairfield off Libertyville Road, at 8 a.m. on Saturday, January 12 to enjoy the winter weather and search the skies for birds – specifically woodpeckers.
Come ready for a light breakfast and a presentation about the adaptability of Iowa’s diverse woodpecker species!
Basket Making for Beginners: Melon Basket
Looking for a great Sunday afternoon activity? Join Jefferson County Conservation from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 13th and learn how to weave a beautiful basket.
The course costs $15 per person and no prior experience in basket weaving is necessary. Space is limited though so pre-registration is required. Pre-register by email or call (641) 472-4421.
