With 700-plus acres and 1,000 more of adjoining conservation land along the Cedar River Greenbelt in Linn County, Wickiup Hill is the perfect one-day getaway to enjoy Iowa’s winter weather.

Featured in our 2012 spring magazine, this outdoor area located just west of Cedar Rapids  is gorgeous no matter what the season. Explore the four miles of trail on snowshoe or cross country ski and take in the freshly fallen snow adorning the beautifully wooded area.

Or if winter kayaking is more your speed, find some of the best water access points just to the south, in the Chain-O-Lakes and Chain Lakes areas.
