National Geographic is famous for captivating its readers and audience with its daring explorations, riveting stories and breathtaking photography. Last week, the organization celebrated its 125th birthday by taking us back in time to some of its most memorable moments.

The celebration isn’t over yet. National Geographic is devoting a full year to their history, posting stories, slideshows and facts every day. Take a look at some of the most famous photographs in National Geographic’s history.

At INHF, we know the impact a stunning image can have. If you have any shots of our beautiful state, send them our way. We’d love to see them!
