Women, Food & Agriculture Network

Interested in farming but don’t know how to get started? The Women, Food & Agriculture Network is here to help! The group offers an on-farm mentorship experience that allows aspiring female farmers in Iowa and Nebraska to learn what it takes to own and operate a farm.

During the 2013 growing season, 10 women from Iowa and four from Nebraska will have the experience of working on a mentor’s farm for at least eight weeks. Participants receive a small stipend to offset the cost of their travel.

Deadline for application in March 15.

To learn more about the program or to “meet” a mentor, visit the network’s website, or download the mentee application form here.
