Around Iowa: Nahant Marsh Film Premiere

Posted on April 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM by Kerri Sorrell

The Nahant Marsh Education Center is premiering its film “Resurrecting the Wetlands: The Story of Nahant Marsh” tonight, April 4th, at 5:30 and again at 7:30. The film is described as “an inspirational tale of survival, restoration, and fortitude.” Check out the trailer above for a sneak peek of the film!

Each showing will also feature “Mississippi: Tales of a River Rat,” an Emmy award-winning film that features the seasonal changes along the river as experienced by Kenny Salwey, known as the “last river rat.” Salwey will be on hand after the showing for a meet-and-greet and book signing.

Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation assisted with the planning and land transfers for the Nahant Marsh project in the mid-1990s to help it transform into a great nature center destination!
