National Get Outdoors Day

Posted on June 4, 2013 at 10:00 AM by Taylor Eisenhauer

National Get Outdoors DayThis Saturday, June 8, is National Get Outdoors Day, also known as GO Day.

Started in June 2008, the nationwide event began as part of the Get Outdoors USA! Campaign and has developed through the cooperation and participation of federal agencies, nonprofit organizations and the recreation industry.

According the GO Day website, “Prime goals of the day are reaching currently underserved populations and first-time visitors to public lands, and reconnecting our youth to the great outdoors.”

At INHF we'd like to invite everyone, youth and adults, to visit outdoor public areas, or take to the trails this weekend to celebrate GO Day in Iowa.
