Safe school routes

Posted on August 16, 2013 at 10:00 AM by Taylor Eisenhauer

For many Iowa families, summer break has reached an end. The spontaneity of summer days may be gone, but it appears the warm weather will be around for a few more weeks.

Why not take advantage of it?

If your route to school includes a trail, instead of loading up the car, put on helmets or sneakers and enjoy a dose of Vitamin N on the way!

Trails offer a safe, vehicle-free path from point A to point B. If your family rides bikes to school, make sure everyone wears a helmet that fits properly and follows trail etiquette. When walking on trails, children and guardians should be aware of other trail users and stay to the right side of the trail.

Best of luck to students and parents this school year!
