Nature Walk: Evening Thunderstorm

Cumulonimbus clouds that form when cold fronts and warm, moist air collide can reach 60,000 feet (12 miles) in height and may be visible for more than 100 miles. In evening light these clouds reveal their different heights as the sun sinks below the western horizon.  A mirror reflection in quiet water gives balance to the scene.
